Mother Day Gift Ideas

With Mothers Day just around the corner, I thought I would share with you some of my favourite brands, to give you ( or your partner) some great gift ideas for yourself, your mum, a grandma, or a new mum.
To be honest, all of these brands make great gifts for all occasions AND they are Australian companies, (many of them smaller family fun businesses), which makes spoiling someone that little bit sweeter knowing your choice has made a positive impact on another family.

Growing up, we generally gave my mum some hand made gifts, or something we bought at the school stall, followed by breakfast in bed. We would help with chores and try to make her feel special for the day.
It doesn’t always have to be about extravagant or expensive gifts, but gosh it can be nice to be spoilt or be the one spoiling someone.

When I am deciding on a gift, I often think of a category. Eg, a gift to spoil, a gift for comfort, practical or purposeful. Sometimes it can feel like you have no idea what to get someone, so hopefully my list of loves will help.

Sentimental
Jewellery is such a great gift, but what I love are the necklaces that have the initial of each child or the option to engrave something special.
I love the options from Bluebird Co personalised jewellery or give her the gift of photography with a voucher for a family photoshoot ( or get one done before hand so you can gift her some framed memories).
I recently got a Birth Poster created of my two little ones and it is a great gift to treasure. The illustration is a continuous line of your Childs exact 1.1 birth length. It is a pretty artwork piece as well. That piece comes from Sweden, not Australia but didn’t take too long to get here.

Home
Home decorating can be so much fun and many mums get a real joy out of it.
Perhaps some beautiful linen sheets from Linen Social
I love boho style homewares and so its safe to say I love everything from Kokonuts Living Home Decor as well as the Heart Fill Store.

Comfort
I really feel like there is just no going past some beautiful PJs or comfortable loungewear. I am actually quite obsessed with going to bed in beautiful pyjamas. I always have. So these are my tried and tested brands who I think are absolutely fabulous and would make any mama feel great!
Homebodii , The Lullaby Club and Piyama

Pamper
Spa treatments or hair stylist vouchers are always a great gift to send someone, and at the moment it would be lovely to support our salons and day spas who are momentarily closed.
Or you can treat your mama to some lovely face masks, body scrubs, skin and hair care to use at home on the daily.
I love the face masks and skin treats at Esmi Skin Minerals.
I love the face moisturisers at Pam Bam Organics.
Frank Bod has the most beautiful coffee body and hair scrubs and some lovely hydrating face masks too.
Hello Hair make lovely coconut hair treatments to leave your hair soft and luscious!
Bondi Boost have amazing hair products and cute hair turbans too!

Surprise
I love the idea of surprising someone with flowers on Mothers day, but what I also love is the alternatives that are unexpected.
Have you ever considered sending a bunch of beautiful personalised balloons? Or a dried flower arrangement? These can be so beautiful!
I love the balloon arrangements from Lovely Occasions and the dried flower arrangements from Gather. I am sure each area would have locals that would have similar offerings so be sure to search them!

Fun Luxury
These are things I consider beautiful, and they serve a purpose but they are also a little bit luxurious!
Like the incredible picnic rugs from The Wandering Folk. I am obsessed and have had one for nearly 3 years now and it still looks perfect. We use it all the time and it was worth every penny.
I also highly recommend the most beautiful portable picnic tables from Summer Picnic Tables. They fold up flat and are not too heavy. They make setting up a picnic at the beach or parch easy, so you keep food away from ants AND so that you do not drop your precious beverage!
And of course on my adoration list, is the rattan beach chair, which can also be purchased from Kokonuts Living. This chair is just so pretty and great for beach outings or poolside.
Umbrellas and beach towels, I absolutely adore The Beach People. Great quality and beautiful designs.

New Mum
Lets not forget the new mamas! Their babies are too little to make craft so lets give them something special, that could perhaps become an heirloom!
I adore the beautiful blankets from Heritage Blankets. They are so pretty and make wonderful swaddles for baby photos, pram covers or to cover over from breastfeeding. They are such great quality too!
Obviously some pampering gifts would also be great too.

Heritage Blankets have such beautiful blankets to be cherished forever.

Read
Have you ever thought of purchasing a subscription to your mums favourite magazine? Or gifting an ebook voucher?
Or if you prefer an actual physical book, that is totally amazing too. On My list this year is the Not So Mumsy book and Celeste Barber because she is hilarious!

Dress
Its no secret I love to wear pretty dresses, and right now lots of the brands I love to wear are having great sales so head on over to check them out!
I love to shop personally from the following brands – The Self Styler, Love St, Sunday Rae, Little Party Dress, Love Style Co, We are The Others and Spell designs.

Well there you have a round up of all my favourite brands to hopefully help you pick something for yourself or another special mama this mothers day!
Every mama, grandma, great grandma, step mum, stand in mama, mama of angels, fur mama, soon to be mum are special and deserve the love.
Sending big hugs to you all. xxxxx
